Great post Amit.
Patience and discipline are so important if you want to be a successful blogger, you most definitely need a long term plan if you want to make money from blogging. It cannot happen over night, many think it will and will get a rude awakening. However, over time blogging is definitely worth it.
The time sacrificed to blogging will eventually pay off more than a normal day job. As you rightly say though, if you go about doing things randomly then you will not do it. You cannot be a bit hit or miss and be successful with blogging. You need a schedule and plan to follow, without one you will simply give up.
Passion is also very important, maybe more so than the others, if you have a passion then you love doing what you do, if you love doing what you do then you will do what is needed to keep your blog alive and that is half the battle won with discipline.
Passion can motivate a person to become successful. Great post, will share

Most bloggers haven’t patience and discipline. Today, people want instant income from writing. But it is especially important to set goals and keep these goals.

That is exactly my point. Money should not be one’s prime goal. If anyone devotes time to his/her blog, he/she will surely be rewarded by a good amount is some point of time.

Blogging is not for everyone. People often get involved in it as they think (or have been told) that it is a fairly easy way to make money. That is just not the case!
It takes hard work, determination and, as Amit said, lots of patience before you earn a single penny. That’s not to put people off, but people should be aware of what they are getting into.
If you are prepared to do the work, then blogging is a fantastic industry to get into. You get to work for your self, meet people from all over the world and build your own business. Any business takes work to get it off the ground, but if you can, you will love blogging!
Great post Amit!!!!

Well, Amit,
first of all thanks for your guest post, it’s my honor.
Then, it seems that you are receiving a pretty nice number of social signals in your guest post here!
You’re making a record!
You shared good points in your article.
For me blogging at beginning was just a curiosity and it was hard to learn the “technical” stuff.
But with passion you can achieve anything you want!
I think also constancy is very important while blogging.
Thanks again mate!
These qualities are all extremely important — particularly if you are in the marketing and blogging niche itself, since it is so saturated. Things might move a little quicker if you have a blog in a more specific, less saturated niche (or sub-niche). There will be less of a market for it, but it will be easier to dominate that niche.

hat is a great way to sum up the necessary “skills” or attributes to being a blogger, but how about the dreaded word of “failure” when the blogs you put up don’t rank or get any traffic! Some might just give up while others will positively analyse their work and move onto the next blog etc. It’s all about mindset I believe, and how you deal with that “stuff that happens”. The thing is to Keep Learning, have an open mind and most importantly NEVER GIVE UP!
As a web developer I made a lot of websites for others. I got used to seeing the majoring of the websites fail from lack of regular content from their owners. Now with my own website, I see bad traffic days that coincide with my not writing days and make avoiding the slump in traffic a motivation work.
It wasn’t until I was blogging for awhile that I thought, “hey, I might be able to make money at this”.
Well…that turned out to be true. In the year I’ve been blogging, I’ve made approximately $32.17, which I can’t even get out until I hit $50.00. LOL.
Great post and so true!
Another thing, bloggers should love to write. Bloggers are not just web designers they provide contents for their site.
You must love spending a LOT of time on the internet. Blogging is not just writing and posting articles you also need to learn everyday. Spending a lot of time on the Internet is a must routine.
Of course you must be comfortable publicizing your thoughts and opinions and prepared to take criticism, otherwise you may take critics too personally and even quit blogging.

To become a successful blogger requires a lot of patience and perseverance. It is very true that you cannot achieve success overnight, but if you are really passionate about it, then in the end you will realize that all your efforts are worth it.

I agree about these three main points. Not separate from the point about passion, you need to find an area to focus on – something that you can keep writing about and researching for many months and years, and not get bored of it.
And perhaps also, find a niche, where there are not already too many good sites around.
Simply building a blog and posting doesn’t seem to work alone. I have found that integrating it into other media, such as Twitter, interacting with other users to provoke interest and feedback seems to work well to generate a readership.
I agree with you Amit.
Blogging for money == quitting after few months.
People must be very patient to be successful in blogging. If they are not then it would be impossible for them to be successful!

Hey Amit, this is a brilliant post. Blogging is right for me. I have started several blogs before – and I got a new one last October to show that I am not frustrated in my experiences. I blogged and I did not make money. But I did not stop. I realized I haven’t done my best – and I need to learn more like you said it’s slow process.
Again – thank you – this post remind me that I should be patient all the time.
Regards,
Prime
