Happy New Year 2013: Thoughts, Plans and Ideas for Your Blog

Within few hours, a year is going to pass and I look back to think about what I have accomplished.

I’m satisfied.

And you?

Do you already have plans on what to do in 2013?

Plans About New Year 2013

I have many projects – both offline and online – and without entering (for now) in details, I summarize by saying that I want to keep growing my business and my income, in order to improve the quality of my life.

Sometimes the changes are scary, but if you follow your instincts, then you know you are doing the right thing.

There are people who do not change anything in their lives, because they are scared of what can happen.

And so there are bloggers who are afraid to change something in their blogs.

Changes are good if you feel positive. If you want to grow your blog, then you need to keep improving it.

And in order to improve, sometimes you need to make changes.

Google has made some big changes during 2012 and the webmasters know that SEO game is changed.

I think in the future, social signals will be even more important than today in order to rank well in search engines.

New social networks will open.

And if you think about it, link building methods are really different today than the past.

Guest posting ruled this year, for anyone who wanted to build safe and quality backlinks.

I have started my guest posting campaign since a couple of months, after 2 years that I started blogging without any guest posts. And the benefits in terms of online visibility and rankings have no price.

The best part of guest posting is the relationship you can build with the blog owner, in my opinion.

And I think guest posting will continue to be the safest method to build quality inbound links during 2013.

  1. Thanks Erik, that was the kick-in-the-butt post I need to read before year’s end! I usually take time to reflect at this time of year, but I was fortunate enough to take a week away with my family and just returned from Cuba where we spent a fabulous week. So before I know it, bam! It’s already time to decorate the house for the party tonight and get the New Year celebrations under way!

I will certainly take some of your advice here in the next few days as I also need to make a few changes, here and there, on my blog and my overall business strategy for 2013. So cheers and all the best for 2013!

  5. Happy New Year, Erik! I think change is an awesome thing. Sometimes it’s no fun but it always keeps things moving and interesting. I have lots of changes planned for my business and blog this year, even simple ones like switching up the theme. It helps you get perspective and see what new things work and what don’t. Every day vow to make one small change…. it adds up to big improvements!
