One of the traditional way to build high quality backlinks and get more traffic to your site, is trough Article Marketing.
It is a great way to promote your product, your service, your website or blog.
All you have to do is build an high quality article, related to your niche, above all original and then submit to an Article Directory.
Most of the Article Directories have high PageRank and the link that you will be allowed to put in your profile, below your article, will be “DoFollow”.
This means you will receive of course high benefits in terms of SEO and also focused traffic of your niche.
But there are also some directories that added the “NoFollow” tag in the resource box of the author.
If you do not know, the “NoFollow” is a HTML anchor link attribute used to tell major search engines that this link should not influence the ranking in the search engine’s index.
How to Create Content for Article Marketing
It is essential that you follow simple and categorical rules, to create successful content for Article Marketing.
First of all, you should write original and high quality content : avoid anything copied from other sites, even if it is written by you.
Of course the Article Directories have an automatic software that will check if the content that you want submit is copied or not.
The title of your article is the most important part, because this is what will grab the reader attention.
The golden rule is to tell readers what the article offers and tell them quickly : within the first three or four words, if possible.
Then you may insert sparingly your keywords in the content and avoid any spam.
Like blogging, you should write an article for the reader, not for search engines.
The resource box is where you may put your link.
Describe yourself and take the opportunity to insert your URL, writing a “call to action” : invite the readers to your site to buy, join, signup, visit or whatever you want them to do.

There are many article directories online, where you can submit your content.
The good news is that most of them will allow you to put a link back to your site and sometimes you can also use this opportunity to include your keywords.

Of course, my simple suggestion is that you should invest your time first in the DoFollow Article Directories and with higher PageRank.

Well, in general, I think that we should build backlinks in a natural way, so Google will like it …
And anyway, I think it is hard to write 10 original and unique articles per day, to include them in 10 different directories !

Wow! This list would be amazing if I had a time machine that could send me back to 2001, or even 2011 before the Panda update pretty much destroyed the effectiveness of article marketing. But I suppose if I had one of those I wouldn’t be looking for free money making advice online.

Ha, I was being a little bit unfair. Article distribution sites are great for ranking for niche keywords – and if you submit a good article, there’s always the chance of it being picked up.
Only big problem with them is the fact that spammers have taken over the majority of them, making it bad for everyone.

Wow great stuff. Article marketing is something that we have not done a lot but we are very interested in it. This article is perfect for someone just getting into it. In terms of time spent, do you feel article marketing is something that takes priority over other online marketing?
